A Carbon Reduction Plan validates your business’s commitment to achieving Net Zero by 2050 at the latest, in line with the Mongolia’s Government’s commitment under the Climate Change Act. Using the carbon emission data from your business’ carbon footprint, we will work with you to create an actionable and tailored Carbon Reduction Plan to help your business prepare for a greener, zero carbon future. Your Carbon Reduction Plan is a high-level strategy document that will include a summary of previous carbon footprint assessments (if available), carefully identified carbon reduction targets and defined actions to achieve the goals set by your business. This needs to be updated at least annually.

Why Net Zero Transition matters

Emissions

  • Carbon Reduction Plans include a summary of your business’ Scopes 1 and 2 emissions.
  • Scope 3 emissions represent up to 80% of any business’ carbon emissions. There are 15 categories of Scope 3 emissions defined by the GHG Protocol Corporate Reporting and Accounting Standard.
  • In completing a Carbon Reduction Plan, your business is required to detail emissions for five of these categories or set a target date of when Scope 3 will be calculated in the future.

Carbon Reduction Plans should be reviewed and updated annually to reflect changes in organizational structure and to take account of the efforts made to reduce their emissions over time. To increase transparency, your business should publish the latest Carbon Management Plan on its website.
